Duesy Terms of Service

Effective 2026-07-27 · Plantburgh LLC

What Duesy is

Duesy is a private, on-device ledger for informal debts between you and people you know. It is a record-keeping tool: it does not move money, does not create legally enforceable obligations, and is not a lender, bank, or payment service. Payment deep-links (e.g. Cash App, Venmo) simply open third-party apps you already use, under their own terms.

Calls

Call features only annotate: Duesy shows your own notes for a caller and never blocks, screens out, or rates any call. If you make Duesy your call-screening app, your previous screening app stops screening; you can hand the role back at any time from Settings → Call setup.

Trial and subscription

New installs get 30 days of full access. Afterwards, adding and settling debts requires a subscription ($2.99/month or $19.99/year) or a one-time lifetime purchase when offered. Billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store; you can cancel anytime in the store and keep access until the period ends. Your ledger always remains readable, subscribed or not.

Comp codes

Access codes issued by Plantburgh are bound to the recipient's phone number, expire on the date stated when issued, are not transferable, and may be renewed or not at Plantburgh's discretion.

Your data, your responsibility

Everything lives on your device. You are responsible for keeping backups (Settings → Export) and for remembering your backup passphrase — without it a backup cannot be decrypted by anyone, including us. Deleting the app deletes your ledger. Figures in Duesy are what you (or a friend's signed update) recorded; they are your records, not a statement of legal debt.

Acceptable use

Use Duesy only to track genuine informal arrangements between consenting people. Don't use it to harass anyone or to record unlawful transactions. Nudge messages and statements are drafts you review and send yourself; you are responsible for what you send.

Disclaimer and liability

Duesy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Plantburgh LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for disputes between you and the people on your ledger. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before a claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after a change is acceptance.
